Precious metal clay or PMC is made from
microscopic particles of silver or other precious metals that are
mixed with a binder to form a clay that is very similar to modeling
clay. Once the clay is fired, it turns into 99.9% pure silver, gold,
bronze or copper depending on what type of PMC you are using.
This medium is absolutely mind-boggling!
I started fiddling around with
it back in 2005 but had trouble working the wet clay since it dries
very fast. At the time I had other things on my mind, so I put all
the PMC things I had in bags and didn't look at it again until about
mid 2009.
That is when I really started
sinking my teeth into it and I have been working and practicing with
PMC ever since.
I am not yet to the point where
I feel my creations have the quality to be sold but I am getting there
and every piece I finish is getting me a little closer.
So let me show you some photos
of my PMC pieces in chronological order from first piece to the latest
one.
